Label Policies

Publish sensitivity labels to users and configure auto-labeling rules. Label policies control which labels are available and how they are applied.

Policy Scope

  • Users and groups — Specific users or groups who receive the labels
  • Locations — Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, Power BI

Label Priority

When multiple policies apply, the policy with highest priority wins. Labels are resolved by policy order and label order within policies.
